Begun back in the Dark Ages of the Early 90's, the FRBG now has five active members and battles once every three weeks while the waters soft! Captain Randy Masi became the early pioneer in model warship combat when he built the DKM Lutsow from a Swampworks kit back in 1991. For the most part he led a lonely existance until Chris Grossaint entered the fray in 1995 with his American cruiser the USS Savanah. Until 1998 that had been all the battling to be had. That year HMS Inflexible entered the scene and taught colorado battlers what it meant to be "sidemounted"
Since 1998 there have been many sidemount boats built and battled in Colorado. Chris Grossaint went from HMS Inflexible and now captains the mighty USS Washington. Randy battled SMS Deflinger(which quickly left the scene), SNS Taco, and currently battles the SMS Von Der Tann, which is a scrappy little battler by all accounts. Also regularly battling are captains Greig Stephens and Jim Coler. Greig runs whatever he wants and Jim currently battles the USS Brooklyn.
However, coming on the scene hopefully next years a bumper crop of rookies and the FRBG looks forward to indoctrinating them into the hobby...
