The new park is only a little further north on I-95
from the old Hwy 204/Abercorn Rd exit we used to stay at for the Scott
Stell Park battles. In fact, that park is actually connected to this park
by the new Canal Trail! (see Local Activites below)
Directions
From I-95 (Florida):
Driving north up I-95, continue past the old Hwy204/Abercorn
Rd exit (where we used to exit for the old park) and also on past I-16.
Take exit #102 (Hwy 80).
For the Ramada Inn:
Go right (east) on Hwy 80. The hotel will be just ahead
on your left.
For the Econo Lodge:
Go left (west) on Hwy80. The hotel is immediately there
on your right.
For Tomm Triplett Park:
The park is on the right only 1.6 miles (from the I-95
exit) further east Hwy 80. From the Ramda Inn it is probably only about
a mile to the park.
From I-16 (Atlanta):
As you approach Savannah on I-16 east, take I-95 north
and then follow the directions as from Florida above.

Savannah
- Ogeechee Canal Trail
The Savannah — Ogeechee canal
is a 16.5-mile long barge canal constructed in 1826-1830 between the Savannah
and Ogeechee Rivers. After improvements in the 1840s, it featured six locks,
each approximately 18 by 100 feet, with brick walls, wooden bottoms, wooden
gates, and five lock keeper’s houses. Today long portions of the canal
are intact...
